New Bouc Blanc Terrace?

The Bouc Blanc Terrace above La Tania is undergoing some work now that the Summer season is over.

How many coins, keys and credit cards have fallen down between the boards over the years! Or perhaps they’re looking for DJ DoubleDex’s iPod from the Jardine Wedding on 7 July 2007 (7/7/7).

Maybe it’s just general maintenance / replacement work or expanding storage area underneath and not hot tubs or more!

Cows starting to head back down to La Tania now too…

Race up to The Bouc Blanc Restaurant above La Tania (1900m)

A cloudy, misty day for the 2015 runners at least today – not the plus 30C temps from earlier in the month luckily (and no thunderstorms to get it cancelled altogether).

The annual race take place every Summer from La Tania up to the Bouc Blanc restaurant following the vehicle access track. It’s about a 7km distance with a 600m climb. Congratulations to everyone completing the run today.

Anyone remember when one of the South African twins, Ollie, took off his kitchen apron in The Ski Lodge and ran up in a pair of cutoffs and old trainers (and won!) with Jeremy’s dog coming second! 2009 Race

Snow on The Bouc Blanc Terrace this morning

image

Just about a covering of snow on the Bouc Blanc terrace above La Tania this morning.

Temperatures dropped from 20C yesterday to almost zero overnight as a front came across France accompanied with a narrow channel of cold air between sucked down from Scandinavia between high & low pressure systems.

Forecast models a week ago had snow down to 1200m but this gradually rose as we got nearer to a reliable timeframe and this “Arctic Blast” didn’t quite pan out with snow down to resort level. Cost me a tenner in a bet too…

By 10am snow coming down in La Tania but probably too warm to accumulate.

Update: By 1pm La Tania is starting to look all white again – my tenner is safe!

Snowing. Again. Bouc Blanc Terrace turning white, snow/rain level falling…

Could still be another powder day left in this season yet. Temperatures falling tonight so we could wake up to a white La Tania tomorrow morning.

And still it snows… Bouc Blanc terrace white again #EndlessWinter

22nd May and fresh snow once again this morning on the Bouc Blanc Restaurant terrace just above La Tania at around 1800m.

Fresh Snow on the Bouc Blanc Terrace this morning, more forecast to lower levels

Fresh snow on the Bouc Blanc terrace this morning. Only a covering but should freshen things up a bit. Snow showers down to resort level forecast for this morning then clearing up before another system comes through from Wednesday with snow to lower levels predicted. Winter’s not finished yet…

Covering of snow at the Bouc Blanc as they left terrace set out – more snow showers all day

The Bouc Blanc restaurant above La Tania first thing Wednesday morning. A covering of fresh snow overnight thanks to them leaving the tables & chairs out for the Snow Gods…

More snow showers forecast throughout Wednesday and some warmer sunshine by Saturday before the next weather system comes through.

Fresh snow on the Bouc Blanc terrace at first light. Wet in resort but Snow/Rain limit set to fall

Bouc Blanc Terrace above La Tania just about covered with snow this morning

Very limited opening over in Courchevel 1850 today – maybe only Verdons will run. The piste completed yesterday with canonned snow. Some snow high up overnight and looking pretty grim up there. So maybe more later.

The snow is coming though… Most models showing front coming through Sunday night / Monday with what looks like a decent snowfall. Everything crossed….

Bouc Blanc and Lanches pistes visible in the background and the view across to Col de la Loze.
