Meribel by the afternoon of 31 Aug 2012

Bouc Blanc at Noon on Fri 31 August 2012 – a touch of snow on the terrace!

Thanks to Ralph at The Free Ride Republic for this pic of the snow above Meribel at around the 2000m mark. First sign of snow and everyone’s going a bit giddy……..

And the top of Col de la Loze with a covering of snow from the Bouc Blanc Restaurant above La Tania.

The first signs on the Val Thorens Webcam, early morning on Friday 31 August 2012.

And when the weather cleared…

And more fresh snow this morning…. #EndlessWinter

No one left to clear the Bouc Blanc terrace this morning as Winter returns once more. A sprinkling of snow lower down on the Troika run as we head in to the second half of May 2012.

Winter not giving up yet – more fresh snow and more forecast

Wet down at resort level this morning but snowing just above La Tania and the Bouc Blanc terrace once again covered in snow.

Forecast to get colder through the day and snow down to well below resort level to 1000m is predicted tonight.

Could be a decent amount of snow tonight and further snow and colder weather is forecast for next week (La Tania’s last week of the season, although 1850 / Mottaret main lifts open for a further week and Val Thorens until 7 May).

First Snow Flake in La Tania for Winter 2011 / 2012

First snow flake just spotted at Chalet Juba in La Tania, we’re at 1410m.

And the Bouc Blanc terrace just above La Tania is white again this morning! Expect more through the day lower down and in to tomorrow as the temperature drops…

La Tania gondola will be FREE this summer

I was in the Tourist Office and the La Tania gondola (only) will be free this summer due to the building works next the station. Good news if you don’t have a season pass and good excuse to go up to Bouc Blanc for lunch. Brides bubble open Saturday and Sunday only for VTT races this weekend so enjoy while you can. Powder Rules Apply

Freshies galore for those that hike up (or head to Val Thorens). Bouc Blanc restuarant terrace just above La Tania this morning pictured. Dumping in Tignes too – there’s always one more powder day left in a season…
