The Ski Industry - Who Owns Who?
We've given up on this list - see a link below for updates
Amer Sports Group own:
Quicksilver (did) own:
K2 (Jarden Corp)
K2 - credited with first modern fibreglass ski
We reckon that leaves these....
Head - credited with first metal/wood composite
Line - credited with first Twin-Tip ski
ZAG - credited with first Rocker ski
Elan - credited with the first "Carver" ski
Kästle (now rescued from Benetton) folded in to Nordica then relaunched in 2007
Miller Ski - credited with first Powder ski
Then there are of course many smaller independent, highly specialist brands such as Liberty, Wagner, Lokomotiv, Goode, 4Frnt and of course Courchevel's own Fork Tree Skis.
Finally there's the designer labelled ski and boards available in Courchevel 1850 from the likes of Prada, Chanel, Versace and Lacroix (a pair of the latter owned by a certain La Tania entrepreneur - they ski pretty well too!).
We've given up trying to keep track of these - best leave someone else to do it...
