2012 Ski & Snowboard Show, 31 Oct - 04 Nov at London Earls Court

Celebrate the start of winter with a great snow-themed day out

The eagerly awaited 2012 Ski and Snowboard Show is back this October with a new date, exciting new activities and an amazing free lift pass giveaway; it’s set to be the best yet!

The UK’s largest consumer winter sports show returns to Earls Court Exhibition Centre this year and takes place in the October half term - from 31st October to the 4th November – making it the perfect day out for all the family.

The centrepiece of the show is the Trespass Skills Slope where free ski and snowboard lessons from the renowned instructors of the Warren Smith Ski Academy will be available for kids and adults, beginners and experts alike. Thrill-seekers can learn jumps and spins under expert guidance on the have-a-go airbag kicker and everyone can get active in the ice rink and curling area. What’s more, it’s all free!

For the younger ones there’s snow tubing and soft play in the crèche, as well as the chance to meet the nation’s favourite penguin, Pingu. Santa will also be making some guest appearances to give out presents and when he’s not around kids can post a letter to him with parents safe in the knowledge of a guaranteed reply from his North Pole hideaway.

Adults can also enjoy a more relaxed time at the show with boutique wine and beer appreciation sessions, après ski at the Norway Resorts Bar and films featuring some of the best freestyle skiers on show. With a late night opening on Thursday 1st November, it’s an ideal after-work evening out.

This year the Ski and Snowboard Show is going the extra mile and rewarding everyone who books a ticket in advance with one of 10,000 free day lift passes from resorts such as Chamonix and Verbier. To claim the pass, visitors simply choose a participating resort on the ‘Extras’ page in the ticket booking process and take the printed ticket and reference number to the relevant stand at the show.

Over 60 top winter destinations, including the resorts participating in the lift pass promotion, will be represented at the show alongside respected tour operators, independent holiday companies and a variety of winter sports brands and retailers. This makes it the best place to prepare for the upcoming winter holiday season whether visitors are looking for the comfiest ski boots, the ultimate powder location or the smoothest transfer from home to the mountains.

Damian Norman, VOS Media’s Managing Director said “With more free, interactive features than ever before, 10,000 lift passes to giveaway and the move to the half term holidays, we’re doing all we can to support the UK snowsports industry by making skiing and snowboarding more accessible. Not only are we taking steps to break down the cost barrier that sits between a country with limited snow and a sport that depends on the cold stuff, but we’re also showcasing many aspects of winter sports in order to engage with families, youngsters and dedicated snowsports fans.”
