Hotel Telemark in La Tania Sold?

The auction for the Fonds de Commerce of the Hotel Telemark in La Tania took
place this morning at 11am at the hotel.
Rumour has it that it will be up and running again and not turned in to
apartments. There’s a lot to do in the 2 weeks until the resort opens but it
should once again be a friendly place to visit….

Snow on it’s way?

GFS Models starting to converge. Looks like rain lower down first though…

The Bouc Blanc restaurant at the top of the La Tania gondola has snow again. Colder and more snow lower down at the weekend hopefully.

La Tania & Meribel Village join the Meribel Happy Hour Week

Pub Le Ski Lodge and La Taiga in La Tania along with Lodge du Village in Meribel Vilage have joined the Meribel Happy Hour week from 12 to 19 December 2009.
Loads of bars doing Happy Hour prices all day, every day from the Ronnie to Dicks for the first full week of the season (limited opening from 5 Dec in Meribel and 1850).
With cheap lift pass prices and plenty of accommodation deals on offer it’s a great time for some early season skiing and boarding at bargain prices.
Will anywhere else in The Three Valleys follow? Over to you Courchevel….

Snow / Weather Update

After the really warm spell last week and the snow lower down all
disappearing (the 15 November rule being applied of no snow that falls
before then will stay) the outlook is for colder, unsettled weather. A
dusting of fresh snow overnight for Val Thorens who already have a small
number of lifts open and this set to continue tomorrow with light snow to
around 1800m and then sunshine for the rest of the week.

At resort level it looks like a wait until the weekend 27/28 November for
significant cooling and some fresh snow. The cannons should start kicking in
around then too to start laying out the proper base for resort runs lower
down. The general trend is for colder weather and snow in to the beginning
of December and lots of precipitation about but really to far away to call
at the moment. Things looking fairly normal for the time of year at the
moment.
