The first La Tania Gondola Cabin comes home – where to buy them…
The La Tania Gondola has been upgraded this Summer with new Sigma Diamond Cabins that have 8 seats with skis and snowboards taken inside. This type of cabin we believe doesn’t have slots in the floor for skis but there are a couple of supports/clips at the far side from the door.
Similar to the Mont Vallon replacement cabins these are “licenced” for 10 people or 800kg (with 8 seated and 2 standing).
We saw the first of the new gondolas being checked & mounted and nearly ran in to the trucks bringing them up the mountain!
What has happened to the old cabins?
Unlike the Charity Auction of the Chenus and Ariondaz cabins which saw online bidding and all cabins snapped up last year – this time they have all gone to a specialist gondola cabin reseller. Our spies have spotted them…
The old cabins are at Taninges Télécabines 11km south west of Les Gets. They specialise in old ski lifts, especially gondola cabins and their customisation and refurb for use in restaurants, bars, saunas, ski chalets etc. Quite an amazing place!
The old cabins are for sale for around €3,000 plus tax and not including delivery. They measure 2m x 2m x 2.7m and weigh 450kg so not the easiest thing to transport!
