New La Tania Beginners Area – First Lift Going In & Plan Fontaine / Folyères Junction Explored

Today saw the support structure for the first of the covered magic carpet / travelators installed

It would appear that the 2022 Three Valleys Piste Map is not exactly right regarding the Plan Fontaine (green) and Folyères (blue) junction. It shows it with the green run going in to the beginners area – but it looks like all piste traffic (sensibly) goes around the beginners area and Plan Fontaine joins up with Folyères.

There will be netting separating the areas once construction work finishes and we approach the start of the season. La Tania lifts open on 11 December with Courchevel 1850 opening on 4 December.

On the far side of the La Tania Gondola the road up to the chalets has been moved as preparation work for the Moretta Village construction starts (see What’s New).

It looked like the red run would be affected with the new road but it now looks like there will be a new entrance for skiers coming down the red Moretta Blanche piste back to the La Tania Gondola. Some more pics in the What’s New 2022.

Thanks to Ralph at Freeride Republic Catered Chalet Holidays for the pics.
