More snow overnight but the Ski Lodge Terrace cleared so the snow was bound to stop. Who drew the heart – La Tania love….

Some flight delays today mainly due to UK snow problems although some more snow due through France today and tomorrow. That will be no problem to the professional La Tania transfer companies such as 3 Valleys Transfers who took the pic of the Geneva arrivals board this morning.

And thanks to The Buckles for the Official Measuring Imstrument of Hampshire pic!

School Disco Night at The Ski Lodge…

Never old enough to serve alcohol surely?

Looking like a Snowy Saturday, could be a difficult transfer day

Front coming in over the Atlantic, then developing across the Alps by Saturday. Latest forecast model ensembles starting to agree about significant snow fall to resort levels predicted from Saturday morning and through the weekend.

Nick Ski snow Report Wed 16th Jan 2013

Maybe another 25cm higher up over night and sun returns but very cold and due to get colder in the next few days. Photo of Pyramids, 1650. Perfect skiing conditions. Nick www.nickskithreevalleys.co.uk

How forecasts can change – Snow today but then some Sun

Meteo France now forecasting a return to some sunshine after further snowfalls today, heaviest this afternoon. Most forecast models now showing the weather system with the snow fizzling out over the next day or so and some clearer weather on the way. All are predicting temps down to as low as -15C overnight midweek. It got down to -10C at 04:30 this morning at resort level according to our weather station. Next big front from the Atlantic looks likely to reach us by the weekend although this is out of the reliable timeframe to really predict any accurate snow amounts. Cold temps should keep the the pistes in excellent condition in any case.

Right Hand Piste Marker

Not a very exciting photo but an important one; on low viz days like today remember that the right hand piste marker poles (as you are going downhill) have a high-viz top, usually orange or sometimes a little flag on them, does help. Nick www.nickskithreevalleys.co.uk

Looking like snow until Friday…

Meteo France forecasting snow for most of the week and getting much, much colder too!
