La Tania New Year’s Eve Video Snow Report – How much snow?

No really, that will do now, New Year’s Eve.

No idea how deep, can’t get outside. I guess 50cms plus in 28 hours…..

That’ll do Donkey.

Space 8th jan, come on down.

Heavy Snow Today. Off Piste Avalanche Risk rising. Roads may be difficult.

Today’s first light Merinet webcam pic shows the roundabout and a snow covered road at Meribel Village, 5 minutes drive from La Tania (on clear roads).

Off Piste Avalanche risk likely to rise to 4 out of 5 (high) today with the new snow – note that Northish facing slopes could be less safe due to a weak layer not bonding well – the cold weather actually causing this for once. Check out http://www.henrysavalanchetalk.com for further info.

Snow! And looking like lots more through Fri/Sat

Merinet webcam this morning showing snow covered roads in Meribel. Even the heated paved area to the Tourist Office is white… Forecast for snow through Friday and in to Saturday – could be another challenging transfer weekend.

More Big Snow coming Friday / Saturday

Forecast models starting to converge with significant snowfall forecast Friday & Saturday, could be travel disruption likely. Powder Day for New Years Day!

Return of the blue skies and the sun shining back over the lucky ones…

First light, clear sky, gonna be a belter of a day today. Go hard, but take care

The OMT is now at 50cms so time to clear off and start again, snowed all day today, big furry fat flakes. Might calm down tomorrow.
