Metro Ski and Snowboard Show 2008 - A winter wonderland for all the family in the heart of London this half term

If you’re struggling for ways to keep the kids active over half term, then this year’s Metro Ski and Snowboard Show is just the answer, offering a fun-filled day for the whole family.

The show runs from 22nd – 26th October and is the perfect way to liven up the half term week for kids - and parents! This year’s event boasts even more attractions than before, like the Trespass Ice Kingdom with its Curling Sheets, Skating Rink and Sub Zero Ice Bar for mum and dad. What makes the Metro Ski and Snowboard Show even more family friendly is that kids go in free1 and once you’re through the door you don’t you have to pay for any of the activities!

An intro to snow sports: The show is the perfect place for families to get their first taste of skiing and snowboarding. With retailers providing advice and equipment, learner slopes to practice on and a World Resorts Village with experts on hand to suggest the best alpine breaks for everyone, the show is a one-stop-shop to prepare for the winter season.

Big Air Jump: The centrepiece of the 2008 show will be the 40ft ‘kicker’ where Europe’s top riders will wow the crowds with never seen before aerial tricks. If it’s inspiration that you need – look no further.

Get you skates on: The Ice Rink is back and it’s bigger, giving kids even more room to show off their skating skills. Those that are feeling really energetic can head over to the Curling Sheets and try out the unusual Winter Olympic sport.

Husky Heaven: Everyone’s favourite sledge-pulling pack of Canadian Huskies and St Bernard’s return to greet our visitors. Get your photo taken with a husky dog and make your own taffy in ice troughs.

Sno-Joke: In a nostalgia filled return there will be a coconut shy - but with a winter difference. For a £1 charity donation, you can fill your hands with snow and take aim at one of our Snoconuts. If your aim is true, you’ll walk away with a head warming Metro Snow beanie hat.

Cold Creations: Some of the world’s best Ice Sculptors will be at the show dazzling visitors as they carve up blocks of frozen water into phenomenal sculptures using nothing but chainsaws and chisels.

Fancy a spin: If the kids have still got energy to burn then bring them over to the Gigloo where our resident DJs and B-Boys will be hosting a DJ school with break dancing classes.

Time for a n-ice cold drink: A new feature for 2008 is the Ice Bar where mum and dad can take a break from the kids, cool off and listen to DJs spinning chilled music in sub zero temperatures. The free Mark Warner crèche will be happy to look after your little ones whilst you enjoy a well earned break too.
