The New Tougnete Gondolas in Meribel

The Buckle family check out the brand spanking new gondolas being installed on the Tougnète lift.

These replace the old plastic bubbles and are part of a complete refurb of this lift this Summer.

Creche Details for Winter 2008/9

While the new creche facility is built (between the Montana Hotel and The Gondola station) there will be a temporary facility made available for children from 3 years. It will be located between the Maeva Britania parking (near the Sherpa) and the road. It plans to be open from Sunday to Friday from 8h45 to 12h30 and from 1h45 to 5h30, no lunch facilities. The prices have not been confirmed yet. Private options here

New Snow Cannons Going In and Creche News

More new snow cannons are being installed above La Tania (see pic) further improving the excellent snow cover we can rely on for our runs down to resort.

Since the Folyeres cannons went in below the top Gondola station back in 2001 the resort run has been open from the first to the last days of the season.

The new cannons are on the top section of the Bouc Blanc and the Arolles Boulevard (also being widened) providing more guaranteed cover during the season if required.

More cannons going in at the bottom of Jockeys down to Le Praz (our favourite bad weather run when everyone else is on Folyeres).

La Tania Opening Day for Winter 2008/9 - CONFIRMED AS SAT 13th DECEMBER

After some debate the La Tania opening day for Winter 2008/9 has finally been confirmed as Saturday 13 December 2008. Three Valleys 2008/9 Lift Pass Prices now on-line.

New Improvement for 2008/9

The main news in the Courchevel area is a new piste from the top of Pralong & Biollay chairs straight down to the Suisse chair and more snow making above La Tania:

The new piste follows a similar route to the old Super Pralong drag lift from a few years ago and was a popular easy off piste run in the usual route up to Saulire using Biollay and Suisse with no need to remove skis.

New snow cannons are to be installed on both the Bouc Blanc (red) and Boulevard des Arolles (blue) pistes which link 1850 over to the top of the La Tania gondola from which there is already snow cannons all the way down to resort thus guaranteeing the link over from Courchevel.

There's also plans for a new swimming pool / sports complex in 1850 and a new Tourist Office with left luggage and waiting room over in 1550. In Méribel, the Tougnette gondola is getting completely refurbed for next Winter (this now runs only to the mid-station with the advent of the new Tougnette 6-man chair to the summit).
