The on the fly updates...

Day 2:

hello my sweets, well I managed to unpack on the first night but those two . . . well what can I say probably due to the fact that we got here 90 seconds latey? Shib were as good as you thought they might be so we carried on with the consumption of beer - they didn't seem to notice. Yesterday was T Walls Birthday - heavens to Betsy what a day! Apart from spinning sideways at a people carrier the day went off with far too much to say about it . . . . well a mention has to go out to Bouc Blanc for a great meal - and the Slodge for apres. The Sisters played a ditty or two in the Slodge and Oh My Lord it was only half seven when they finished, cakey in the Taiga was much appreciated and sniff mode was put into turbo charge. Today we are going up and down a bit and trying not to bring back what we consumed yesterday. Loves and hugs - Cus

Day 3:

Ok so nothing that we thought would happen today actually did. We got out to the top of the Masse and then across to LDV. Hey the skiing is pretty nifty at the mo. We kind of skipped lunch cos Toff can't tell the time and there wasn't a restaurant on the lift. Got into LDV to see Shib play yet another great set. Oh and before I forget ... the fashion disasters on the slopes - I could write a book. Just about to have the curry that we thought we might have the morra :0) Then its of to the Slodge for more of the same kind of heaven that makes this place what it is. Love you all Cus

The Reality

Reality

29/1

Arrival 8pm

Pretty good record. Brum, spoilt things a bit though. Ribs in the Slodge ….. ahhh. Shibb were monster and managed to keep Bri away from the Mustang!

Slaughtered.

30/1

T.Wall’s beer based birthday bonanza, Bouc Blanc and BYS

Bacon rolls from Kirsty at the Sausage Shop and Champagne in the Slodge. Very nice Skis from Ski Higher. Conditions were fine so went via la Mur with the old school to Bouc Blanc for mucho celebrations for T Walls birthday.

Rest went onto LDV, I went back down to LT for a beer and a little lie down. Toss the boss and the Sisters was astounding as normal – down to Taiga for birthday cakey.

Plastered.

31/1

Val Thorens

None of this went to plan. Didn’t have lunch cos we didn’t stop conditions were too good – went over to St Martin, then top of La Masse via the dodgy old chair then to Mt Vallon. Then down to LDV. Watched Shibb’s acoustic set, Sandy turned up with our Currys.

Got rather tiddly then Dave drove us home. Curry prepared in two mins then down to Slodge for Dr Bruce. These guys can Really play. Hell of a singer. Trashed.

1/2

Ronnie and Sanjhi

Great conditions. Got separated from Bri and Toff and by the time I tracked them to Bubbles in 1650 they were on the way to LDV. Had best pannini in the Alps then Dave guided me to the top of Col de Loze, down to LDV.

Met up with girlies for lunch. Ski back over to LT. Into the Slodge for après – get stuck into Muzig. Get back to the appt, changed, back down Slodge More Muzig (I drank cider).

LT took about 20 over to Bubbles in 1650 to see the Sisters. Great night. Get back to LT Toff unloads dishwasher at 3am …….

Muzigged.

2/2

An evening of culture

Toff out first light as is powder day. Me and Bri make it for full English in the Slodge (has to be done) and then we were out at the crack of noon.

Blasted around over the Courch side – pistes not bashed so a right hoot. Bailed out after a few hours and went back to bed for a little lie down.

Bri and Toff continued – came back suspiciously early and drunk, however from the noises their knees were making I reckon they had been out a bit – ha.

Watched the rugby – what a right load. Pukka pie and drinks in the Slodge watching the Mackems crumble :0)

Over to the Taiga for dinner joined by T Wall and Jeremy – this place is pretty bleedin’ top notch.

Down stairs for after dinner drinks, sat in leather chairs next to the fire and MoTD on tv so we could laugh at the Mackems again.

Pleasantly mellow.

3/2

Departure 2pm

Out very early, pistes were fantastic – bit windy over Courchevel side so we just came back to our valley – conditions perfect.

Very late back … would have been there still if we could. Back to Ski Higher, top lad. In the car and home.

Pistes at noon,

Gatwick at six thirty five.

Overall there is so much to do you just can’t fit it all in – and the standard of everything, skiing, food, entertainment, people in LT and in the 3V generally is so high I can’t see why you would want to go anywhere else.

Greetings to those we met and those that we wished we had been able to spend more time with.

Thanks to all. Esp Toffa, T Wall, Mini, Jeremy, Bruno, Dave, Steve ,The Sisters and all the other bands, Katey in Bubbles, Kaz and the girls and to Baaaaldy Bri who we managed to keep off his Mustang for most of the trip but who entertained us and took most things on the chin … oooer.
