The Feeling

Previously known as Superfly

Superfly lived in La Tania in Winter 2001 and played fairly often ever since. However, now they're renamed The Feeling, (or were always called that but used the Superfly name to get gigs) they're rapidly becoming very famous and signed to Island Records...

February 2008

The new album Join With UsFeeling was release on 18 Feb and straight in at Number One! The title track was on the demo CDs they sold after Ski Lodge gigs back in 2004.

The new single I Though It Was OverFeeling entered the charts at number 12 on downloads alone and peaked at number 9

We were sworn to secrecy about this - but, the "secret" Méribel gig(s) look to be happening around 26 March (note the date is NOT confirmed - don't book a holiday around it!). The Observer published details & the band hinted at it on TV so we may as well tell you lot. Don't ask us for any details, tickets or how it's gonna work though, although a free gig with an outside stage is the current rumour.... Note that the UK Tour finishes on 20 March - we'll be at the first gig in Brum with a full review on 7 March.

Update since we broke this news: Official comment from The Feeling is "there are some interesting plans afoot but nothing is definite, so don't pack your suitcase just yet".

January 2008

A UK tour has been announced for March - will they get to La Tania??? We'll see... The second album Join With Us is released on February 18th and the new single already getting plenty of air play, I Thought It Was Over is released on 11th Feb.

February 2007

The number two album Twelve Stops and Home was the 21st best selling album of 2006 with over 800,000 copies sold in the UK. 115,000 tickets were sold to the Twelve Stops and Home tours and The Feeling were the most played band on UK radio! Plus Brit award nominees, 4 top 10 singles and winners of the 2007 Ivor Novello Award for “Songwriters Of The Year”.

A great gig in Derby supported by The Fray with all their hits plus a killer version of Video Killed the Radio Star and for all those chalet staff they encored with Fat Bottomed Girls!

First limited release single - To be re-released on 22/05/06

The Feeling (previously Superfly), Ski Lodge regulars in 2001 with the odd gig in La Tania since, have signed to Island Records. The single Fill My Little World was a limited release in November 2005. A former Jo Whiley record of the week, a session on Dermot O'Leary's show and the backing track to Soccer AM's goals of the week. Are they too famous for La Tania now?

Second Single - Sewn

The second single called Sewn was released on 27th February 2006. It entered the charts at number 7 and the guys appeared on Top of the Pops.

The Feeling came 3rd in the BBC Sound of 2006 Survey. More at thefeeling.co.uk

News February 2006

Gig Review - The Feeling @ Carling Academy 2 Birmingham - 12 Feb 2006

The Feeling in Brum 12th March - sorry about the crap pics!

The Feeling (aka Superfly who lived in La Tania in 2001) played a great set to a sold out crowd on the last night of their current tour - Quite funny that they nearly didn't make it 'cos of snow - they were stuck on the motorway from Glasgow for 7 hours on Sunday! Next they support the Charlatans, another tour in June, then it's loads of Summer Festivals. Playing all the stuff off their new album to be released in June called Twelve Stops and Home highlights included the haunting Rosé (or Love and Alcohol as Dan put it) the power pop Love It When You Call plus rocking versions of their 2 singles to date Fill My Little World and Sewn. Crystal clear vocals from front man Dan, pumping bass from Richard and Ciaran's harmonies sounding superb - The Feeling was there gonna be huge....
