The 3 Valleys Escapade in a Day 2016 Update

1
The Escapade 2016 suggested route – all the names go in the La Tania Escapade in a Day Hall of Fame

We started these fun and games back in March 2006 when a late night conversation of is it possible took place… The lift companies idea of discovering all areas of the 3 Valleys in your 6 day holiday and getting a certificate was attempted in a single day.

Back then you got a punch card as there were no electronic passes! The First Attempt documented here

For 2016 things have got harder with Mont Vallon and Foret included (and funnily enough La Tania taken out – are we being discouraged?).

You do this entirely at your own risk, act responsibly, take full ownership for your own actions and all of those with you, respect other people (& the mountain), ride within your limits, always obey the skiers & snowboarders code, observe all signs, pay attention to all notices & advice from Pisteurs, only ski off piste if fully equipped & knowledgeable, it’s not a race (you won’t be insured), but above all, take care, don’t wreck things for others & don’t even think of blaming anyone else if it all goes horribly wrong…..

First attempt of the 2016 Escapade was from Tim Kirk…

“I did the 2016 escapade yesterday. 59.1 miles. The Saulire cable car was shut all day so I missed this so did not get that way marker and had to use Swiss to get out of the valley. Got to the Foret chair to get last way marker at 4.35 but it was shut and had to get the bus home. I will do the Forets and Saulire this morning so that I have done all way markers. I would have got back with time to spare if the Montaulever drag had not broken down on me for 15 mins. They have added Mont Vallon and Funitel Peclet back in it this year which I do not think was on last year. Not bad for somebody who had 2 replacement knees 2 years ago.”

However…
“Just been to lift office and I have not done Becca. I have now check and Becca is missing on the app but is on the piste map so I am going to have another go in March to get them all in one day.”

Gutted for Tim – he also points out that the Escapade Logos on the Piste Map are not shown in the Courchevel Valley they are only available on the 3V App. Also the Becca chair above Les Menuires is marked as an Escapade lift on the piste map but not on the App (it is needed).

Also the Foret Chair from Le Praz is marked on-line and on most Apps as closing at 4:35. The Piste Map is correct and the time is 4:25 (and will be 4:50 from 6 April) – we’ve had this confirmed by S3V.
