Courchevel posting 5/5 Avalanche Risk

Access to 1850 via La Praz this morning. High up lifts still closed due to Avalanche risk. Launches, Cretes, Foret all closed first thing. Clear sky, top day in prospect…… Go hard….

NICKSKI SNOW REPORT 6th JAN 2012

As ever La Tania was in the perfect position this morning despite the storms. The gondola opened 40 minutes later than normal and at the top we were greeted by about a foot or so of fresh powdery snow on top of groomed pistes. First run down the red to La Tania was stunning followed by an awesome run down Jockeys to Le Praz and a lucky bus back to La Tania within 5 minutes. Big grins all round. Unfortunately much of the rest of the Courchevel valley was closed until much later. Still snowing, I need to go an shovel snow again! Nick www.nickskithreevalleys.co.uk

Friday 6th Jan, over 60 cms in a day.

Looking good to better the 1999 snow records. Snowed all night, 20 min snow clearing just to get kids to school bus.

Thanks to Avid Eaters Cath for the pic. Journey from 1850 to an hour and a half last night. Meanwhile Phil at Snowbound Transfers followed a Piste Basher clearing the road up to 1850 at 04:30 this morning… All high lifts closed this morning and still a few power problems…. However – should be great next week!

Return of the sun to La Tania (for today at least)

Great to see blue skies and sunshine once again in La Tania. More snow forecast for tomorrow and on / off during the week too.
