January Saturdays, blue skies, empty pistes, choose run carefully!

Pistes high up in the sunshine after 11am are great. Some in the shade lower down are not and very “fast” in places. Icy spots may soften later lower down though. New snow on Monday? Is that a song?

LT Gondola closed Sat 8 Jan (only) Extra buses on to Le Praz

Confirmation that repair work on the La Tania Gondola will be on Saurday and it will be a permanent fix. Pity the repairers haven’t heard of overnight work. Piste bashers manage to do Out Of Hours work ok.

Gondola working and almost sunny. Decent pistes too.

Gondola working, new “reducteur” part to be fitted on Saturday (night hopefully). €300k part apparently and a new one was fitted in the Summer, still under warranty then…. Almost sunny today and pistes in remarkably good condition. More snow forecast for start of next week.

It’s Russian Christmas Day …. Great…

> And 1850 tendering to their every whim…….

Enjoy the fresh snow tomorrow, a few days of rain coming…

Weather set to change tomorrow, a new system coming across with snow at first but then much warmer temps following from Thursday and over the weekend. Most pistes are well established now and shouldn’t suffer too much and no doubt the pisteurs will do a fine job in keeping the whole ski area in good shape. Looking like things will cool down again next week however. Check out the wigglies…. top lines temps, bottom lines precipitation from various forecasting system models.
