Clampdown on lift pass fraud – you’ve been warned! More photos…

A reminder that lift passes are strictly non transferable and while spot checks on season passes (which include photographs stored electronically) have been made ever since the wireless passes came in to force, from next season there will be photos taken at lift stations of all passes being used to help identify lift pass fraud.

The use of facial recognition technology as well as manual checks takes place and unusual lift pass usage is also monitored.

Not worth the risk, the fine, the cost of replacing a pass (and the humiliation!) – a few of us know this from experience…

From the S3V Ts & Cs:
As explained into the General Terms & Conditions of Sale & Use of Ski Lifts Passes, the ski pass is strictly personal, non-assignable and non-transferable. To fight against fraud, the customer is informed that photographs are taken automatically when passing the inspection terminals at the departure of ski lifts. These photographs are then used by sworn inspector for regular checks, for the sole purpose of ensuring that there is no exchange. The photographs will be retained for the period of validity of the pass and up to 2 additional days. They are treated as personal data.
