Pat Truman

RIP

November 2019

Very sad to report the loss of another member of the La Tania family, Pat Truman.

Pat was full of life and loved skiing in La Tania but had been fighting cancer, keeping it at bay since 1995 and was far too young to pass away when this horrible disease finally won last week. Pat passed away in comfort at St Barnabas House – a hospice in Worthing with husband Bob at her side.

Bob & Pat were one of the first Brits to buy a place in La Tania way back in 1991 and it's fair to say Pat kept a much lower profile than husband Bob who many more people will know. He is often overheard in the Ski Lodge moaning loudly about the news, the weather, the car hire business or the football - but always ready to buy you a pint at Après Ski and share his massive enthusiasm for skiing.

Bob writes:

Anybody who remembers or knows Pat and lives in the Sussex area they would be welcome and it would be nice to see them at a Thanksgiving next Tuesday 10th December at 1pm at the Worthing Tabernacle – Chapel Road, Worthing BN11 1BN.

Pat is being buried before the Thanksgiving at Lancing Cemetery at 11.30am (Pat was from Ireland, they don’t do cremations as much as we do).

We do know a lot of La Tania skiers in the Sussex area that are going to be there. Pat was also involved with the Church and was very popular playing the guitar and singing on Sundays and in a toddles group each week.

Our thoughts are with Bob at this awful time.

Let's all raise a glass to Pat after that first ride down Folyères this Winter and also remember Billy, Debs, Dave, Brenda, Lisa and Jane who we've lost over the last decade.
