19 March 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We (Anthony, Patrick, Lauren & Haengeun) are university friends, based in London and Z\u00fcrich, and decided to attempt the Escapade on the Wednesday of our trip together (19\/03\/2025). Starting out from Meribel Mottaret we used the recommended Escapade route starting from Meribel Centre and Legends lift. Early optimism was put in check when we missed the turning towards St Martin from Roc de Fer! We added in Cherferie and then successfully made it into the correct valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The snow was amazing and queues not too long for the whole morning we spent in Val Thorens and Orelle (even Bruyeres had a short queue!) and we diligently ate our lunch in three sections on Funitel Peclet, Mont Vallon, and Pas du Lac lifts. Our experience of the previous days in the trip told us to substitute Combe du Vallon piste, which was covered in moguls, for Campagnol (\u201cVERY DIFFICULT\u201d if the signage was to be believed), and helped us to navigate the closure of Ours piste by adding in Plan des Mains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Courchevel valley was mostly straightforward but increasingly slushy, and the only way we were able to mentally power through was the prospect of completing the Escapade. Regular time-checks were employed to ensure we would make it back into our home valley by the last lift, and we even did one better by making it to Golf just before it closed, at which point we had hit our final checkpoint and also unlocked a secondary achievement of being on the first and last lift of the day!<\/p>\n\n\n

ESCAPADE 2025 \u2013 What\u2019s this all about\u2026<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The 3 Valleys Escapade was the lift company promotion of visiting (originally in 2006) 14 points across the Three Valleys and gaining a certificate & badge over the period of your holiday \u2013 doing it in a day was a bit tricky though!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It all started out as a late night \u201cis it possible?<\/em>\u201d discussion \u2013 the history and our original route from 2006 are here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally punch cards had to be stamped at each check point until electronic passes arrived and then the use of a lift was recorded \u2013 now we use Apps such as Ski Tracks or Relive to prove our route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note that the Escapade is no longer officially promoted by Les 3 Vallees from Winter 2017 but we still record successful tracks for anyone who is interested in being in the sought after La Tania Escapade Hall of Fame<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
