01 April 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adrian \/ Hollie \/ Allegra \/ Max \/ Anna \/ Alice \/ Alistair – The Great Escapade Challenge<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So 7 intrepid escapaders started on the great escapade on April fools day. We were hoping for a good run and thankfully luck was on our side for most of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We made good head way to begin with and making good speed down to Meribel though we ended up lapping runs on olympics due to missing a turn. We then strived down into Les Menuires but gave Saint Martin and Bettex a miss due to the poor snow. We then started making our way to Val Thorens hoping to be there by lunchtime, a few moans about being hungry started to come out. Thankfully food on the lifts over to Orelle calmed things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wind up at Orelle tried to squash us and we almost got stuck as the or2 lift stopped running. So we had to make our way back via Col de Rosael which was a lovely picturesque view, if not a little cold from the wind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we approached our return though Val Thorens and then M\u00e9ribel a few legs started to waiver coming down the wonderful red on Mont Vallon. Also a few hangry outbursts came out but soon stopped once they realised we were on the home leg. However everyone pulled together and we ventured through Courchevel (though missing some of the\u00a0less snow sure runs in Moriond and Le Praz).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall a great fun day had by all and the 7 adventures came back as one group, with a celebratory drink at the Bouc Blanc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ESCAPADE 2025 \u2013 What\u2019s this all about\u2026<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The 3 Valleys Escapade was the lift company promotion of visiting (originally in 2006) 14 points across the Three Valleys and gaining a certificate & badge over the period of your holiday \u2013 doing it in a day was a bit tricky though!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It all started out as a late night \u201cis it possible?<\/em>\u201d discussion \u2013 the history and our original route from 2006 are here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally punch cards had to be stamped at each check point until electronic passes arrived and then the use of a lift was recorded \u2013 now we use Apps such as Ski Tracks or Relive to prove our route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note that the Escapade is no longer officially promoted by Les 3 Vallees from Winter 2017 but we still record successful tracks for anyone who is interested in being in the sought after La Tania Escapade Hall of Fame<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
