Love about Brazil World Cup 2014:
\nEntertainment value of most games and quality football – Best World Cup ever.
\nThe refereeing overall.
\nRio free travel with tickets on match day, volunteer helpers etc.
\nThe Food – all of it.
\nPrices – generally cheaper than expected and still can’t find the BBCs \u00a321 pint of beer. Average is \u00a32 for a pint.
\nThe Drink – most of it.
\nCocktails on the beach.
\nThe beaches.
\nPre-match music – Thunderstruck, AC\/DC.
\nCopocabana – Best location for a FanFest ever.
\nThe banter with fans from all over the world.
\nLong, long moaning, grumpy conversations with England Fans analysing every kick, formation, team selection and managers decision for days after games – quality crack.
\nCaipirinhas and “CaipryVods”
\nRio Helicopter Trip – breathtaking.
\nItaly, Portugal & Spain also going out in group stage.
\nUSA Fans – forgetting about the chants & dress code – out here in big numbers & many highly knowledgable.
\nAussies – plenty here, always up for a drink.
\nLouis Suarez – the whole affair.
\nFavela visit – humbling.
\nWatching Brazil in a penalty shoot out on the Copacabana.
\nGoals x Bookings x Corner sweep.
\nGetting belted by waves on the Copacabana.
\nColombian Fans, always smiling.
\nMabs Bar.
\nEngland’s Support.
\nBrazil locals, bar staff etc spot on.<\/p>\n

Hate about Brazil World Cup 2014:
\nFace Paint.
\nFancy Dress.
\nMexican Waves.
\nWigs and Stupid Hats.
\nFamily\/Tourist Day Out Supporters.
\nUSA fans dressed up as other teams and supporting them (daily occurence in our hotel).
\nU-S-A and “We believe we will win” USA chants.
\nThe FIFA Flag Ban.
\nSau Paulo – City too big, organisation, transport and ticket collection not up to scratch like Belo and Rio.
\nHalf Time Music – Happy, Pharell.
\nTicket allocations.
\nCat1 Maracan\u00e3 tickets no better than Cat3 – a rip off.
\nThe protestors – it’s too late now anyway and it may have cost \u00a313b but \u00a327b is coming in as a result (a few hundred thousand jobs created too).
\nThe whole “we’re on the big screen thing” with fans waiving at all the cameras focused on the crowd – focus on the bloody match!
\nBrazil fans (only during matches) – not exactly sporting, mocking Chile & other teams going home and hyper critical of all players.
\nMobile phones all videoing the whole match.
\nThe Traffic.
\nMabs Bar.
\nEngland’s performances.
\nThe FA (& the new members tickets scheme).
