What’s New Next Winter In The 3 Valleys? 6 New Lifts!

The Tourist Office and S3V have briefed tour operators with the confirmation of the new lifts and developments on the 3 Valleys ski area for the 2014/2015 season.

In the Courchevel Valley, the new Foret and Aiguille du Fruit 6 seater lifts are shown and Park City is being re-classified as a blue (the top bit used to be called Turcs which was a black and is now red!) – maybe the Turcs name is coming back and Park City will start lower down.

The new Foret lift will be a 6 seater chair with hoods and come up from Le Praz to just above the La Tania gondola.

The Aiguille du Fruit new profile is lower down than the current lift on the return from 1650 to 1850 but high enough to access the Marmottes / Chanrossa area as well as return to 1850.

In Meribel we finally see the upgrade of the Loze chair to a hi-speed detachable quad.

Good to see the continuing investment in the biggest ski area in the world with the most modern and efficient lift system in the world too. Full high res images to follow.

  1. Lovely to see so much investment and, in particular, the focus on the La Tania area. Friend of ours who live in another large interlinked resort close by are very envious. However, the new Foret lift will put pressure on the bottom stage of the Bouc Blanc piste as skiers from Praz drop down to the new Bouc Blanc lift (there is a huge banner at the bottom of the Praz station advising people that this is the recommended route into 1850). Snow cannoning on the bottom stage of the Bouc Blanc would be a huge help, especially in the early weeks of the season.
