The last weekend of Summer is already upon us and the final night of the Ski Lodge for Summer is tonight.
Back to inter-season slumber next week and panic work to get chalets ready for next season…..
La Tania will start to open for Winter at the beginning of December, the Ski Lodge opening in the first week of Dec with the La Tania lifts opening on 12/12/09. Val Thorens plans to start opening for skiing around 21/11 with main lifts in Courchevel and Meribel planned for 5/12 – all subject to snow/weather/cannons of couse…
See you all in December (and the Ski Show on 24/10). Until then, Go Hard……….

After the (unofficial) Bouc Blanc Races last weekend some of the finely tuned La Tania athletes entered the La Praz 5km race. Andrea finished 2nd in the females, John Broadbent won his age category and John Machin & Phil also ran. John Machin’s kids entered the kids event with his daughter being the first girl in her age group too. Thanks to Andrea of Snow Retreat for the pic.
> Although the Bouc Blanc race was officially cancelled, cos of the
> weather (or timing gear missing) several La Tania locals still did
> the race:
>
> John Machin, John Broadbent, Sarah Buckle, Simon (South African) and
> from Le Praz Chris, Caroline and Stan. We all arrived rather wet
> and soggy in the following order:
>
> John Machin
> Chris
> John Broadbent
> Stan
> Sarah Buckle
> Caroline
>
> interspersed by several french runners who also started the second
> (unofficial) race – Congrats to Simon (S.Africa Twin ex-Ski Lodge)
> coming 2nd amongst some serious French runners in that race in 40
> mins, a Parisian won in 32 mins. Jeremy's (Taiga) dog chased Simon
> and came 3rd.
>
> Well done to all who took part and also to the Bouc Blanc who gave a
> very warm welcome and for all the prizes!
>
> Thanks to Sarah for the update, pics to follow….
